Certified Training Center
Our Certified Training Center provides professional instruction and hands-on experience to ensure individuals gain the skills and knowledge needed to meet industry standards with confidence.
The Foundation Behind
Our Expert Technicians
At Ingstrup Garage Doors, great results don’t happen by accident—they come from training.
That’s why we built a dedicated, in-house garage door training center inside our warehouse. This hands-on facility is where our technicians learn, practice, and refine their skills before ever working on your home. They also continue their education with weekly training throughout their career.
It’s a big part of why we’re known for professional garage door installations, reliable repairs, and long-lasting results.

Understanding Garage Door Construction
We train our team to understand not just how to install a garage door—but what they’re installing into.
Our training walls include:
- Rough Framing Display
Clearly labeled components like king studs, jack studs, headers, and more—so every technician understands structural support. - Finished Garage Door Opening
Demonstrating: - Proper track mounting (track pads)
- Secure spring system anchoring
- Correct garage door opener placement
This ensures every install meets manufacturer specifications and delivers long-term performance.
Garage Door Parts & Tools Training
We believe great technicians know their equipment inside and out.
Our training center features a full garage door parts display, where technicians learn:
- Hinges, rollers, and hardware
- Torsion spring systems
- Weather seals and product variations
Every new technician is tested early on to ensure they can identify and properly use every component.
We also train with professional-grade tools, including:
- Advanced spring winding systems
- Specialty service tools
- Safety equipment for handling damaged or stuck doors
The Proving Door – Real Performance Testing
One of the most unique parts of our facility is what we call The Proving Door—a garage door system that runs continuously, opening and closing every few minutes.
We use The Proving Door to:
- Test garage door parts durability
- Verify manufacturer claims
- Compare standard vs. heavy-duty components
- Understand real-world wear and tear
We don’t just take a manufacturer’s word for it—we prove it.
The Proving Door also allows us to recreate real service scenarios. If a technician encounters a difficult or unsafe situation in the field, we bring it back, recreate it, and train on the correct way to handle it.
Hands-On Installation Training
Repetition builds consistency. That’s why we’ve installed hundreds of doors on our dedicated training wall.
Here, technicians practice:
- Full garage door system installations
- Track and spring system setup
- Trim and finishing work
- Solving real-world challenges like low headroom, ductwork, and tight spaces
We train for the exact scenarios our team will face in the field—so there are no surprises on your job.
Garage Door Opener Training
We also focus heavily on garage door opener installation and setup, including:
- Clean, professional wiring
- Secure ceiling mounting
- Proper system programming
Our goal is simple: every opener we install should be quiet, reliable, and problem-free.
Ongoing Training =
Consistent Quality
Training doesn’t stop after onboarding.
Every technician completes:
- 3 weeks of hands-on installation training
- Field experience with experienced team members
- Additional training before advancing into service work
And even after that, our entire team meets weekly in the training center to:
- Review real job challenges
- Learn new garage door products and technology
- Maintain consistent installation standards
